In February 2018, Congress authorized the FFPSA, providing states with new flexibility in how they can use Federal Title IV-E funding to prevent children from entering the foster care system and prioritize keeping children in foster care in the most family-like settings. Former DFPS Commissioner and current policy consultant with Casey Family Programs, Anne Heiligenstein, will walk us through the new law, and the Public Policy team will discuss CASA’s role in serving the best interest of children as FFPSA comes to Texas.
